The Brigham Pipe of the Year 2023 honours the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Northwest Mounted Police (NWMP). The NWMP was established in 1873 and quickly gained an international reputation of professionalism, honesty, and fairness. Placed in the center of many of Canada’s Nation-shaping events, it was merged with the Dominion Police Force to create the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) which has since become an iconic symbol of Canadian identity throughout the world.
In honour of this 150-year tradition, the 2023 Brigham Pipe of the Year was styled to resemble the iconic Stetson hat and finished with a cream coloured, marbled saddle bit. The Pipe is accompanied by a pewter ‘Mountie’ pipe tamper designed and made in the U.K. by David Hinwood. To make this even more special, we created a special belt-loop leather pipe and tobacco bag emulating the style of the NWMP uniform. This zippered leather bag can easily hold the pipe, tamper and a pouch of tobacco and is an amazing piece on its own. Rounding out the assortment, all pieces come in a solid wood storage box depicting the “March West” and NWMP logo on the top and a brief history of the NWMP inside.
